§ 3140. Training course on protocol on dealing with sexual assault victims

(a) It is hereby provided that as part of the training received by the candidates enrolled in the Police Academy a training course on the protocol to be followed when dealing with sexual assault victims shall be included as a mandatory requirement.

(b) The Chancellor of the Puerto Rico Criminal Justice College shall adopt the necessary regulations to establish, among other things, all the rules and norms for the effective attainment of the purposes of this section.

(c) The Chancellor of the Puerto Rico Criminal Justice College, in coordination with the Rape Victims Support Center, attached to the Department of Health, shall be responsible for enforcing the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section.

(d) The Chancellor of the Puerto Rico Criminal Justice College is hereby granted a term of sixty (60) days as of the effective date of this act to draft and adopt the corresponding regulations.
