Section 51.201 - General Powers and Duties of Commission(a) The commission shall:(1) supervise the executive director's administration of the department;(2) formulate the policy objectives for the department; and(3) approve the department's operating budget and the department's requests for legislative appropriations.(b) The commission:(1) may adopt rules as necessary for its own procedures; and(2) shall adopt rules as necessary to implement this chapter.Amended by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 836, Sec. 19, eff. 6/14/2001.
