Section 443.016 - Use of Indigenous Plants and Trees(a) Except as otherwise provided by this section, to the extent reasonable and practical only plants and trees indigenous to this state may be used in landscaping work on the Capitol grounds. The board may authorize the use of specimens of nonindigenous plants that have historical significance in relation to the Capitol grounds.(b) A nursery plant that is transplanted onto the Capitol grounds must have been grown in this state.(c) A tree that is displayed in the Capitol or on the Capitol grounds must have been grown in this state.(d) The board may adopt standards for the selection of plants and trees displayed in the Capitol or on the Capitol grounds or used in landscaping work on the Capitol grounds.Tex.
