Section 68-11-1814 - No presumptions created - Death does not constitute suicide, euthanasia, homicide, mercy killing, or assisted suicide(a) This part does not create a presumption concerning the intention of an individual who has not made or who has revoked an advance directive.(b) Death resulting from the withholding or withdrawal of health care in accordance with this part does not for any purpose constitute a suicide or homicide or legally impair or invalidate a policy of insurance or an annuity providing a death benefit, notwithstanding any term of the policy or annuity to the contrary.(c) The withholding or withdrawal of medical care from a patient in accordance with this part shall not, for any purpose, constitute a suicide, euthanasia, homicide, mercy killing, or assisted suicide.(d) This part does not authorize a surrogate to give consent for, or take any action on behalf of, a patient on any matter governed by title 33.
