Section 39-17-113 - Payment of citations for persons who purchase devices for detection of or interference with devices used to measure the speed of motor vehicles(a) It is an offense to offer to pay or to pay a motor vehicle traffic citation of any person who purchased any device or mechanism, passive or active, to detect or purposefully interfere with or diminish the measurement capabilities of any radar, laser, or other device or mechanism employed by law enforcement personnel to measure the speed of motor vehicles for law enforcement purposes.(b) This section shall apply only to persons and firms that sell or lease devices or mechanisms that detect or purposefully interfere with or diminish the measurement capabilities of any radar, laser, or other device or mechanism.(c) A violation of this section shall be a Class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine only of up to five hundred dollars ($500). Each day a violation occurs constitutes a separate offense.
