Section 1441 - Department established

There is hereby established a Department of Labor and Industry, the head of which shall be a Commissioner of Labor and Industry, who shall be appointed by the Governor, by and with the consent of the Senate, and who shall hold office for the term of four years from the date of his appointment, and who shall receive an annual salary of eight thousand dollars ($8,000), and shall appoint, and may at pleasure remove, all officers, clerks and other employés of the Department of Labor and Industry, except as herein otherwise provided.
