Section 14984 - Manufacturing in houses; permits

No room or rooms in any dwelling-house, rooming-house, or tenement which are used for manufacturing purposes shall be occupied, at any one time, by more persons than would give to each occupant at least four hundred cubic feet of air space; and no such room or rooms shall be so occupied, in any instance, except by a permit from the Bureau or Board of Health, which permit shall expire not later than the calendar year for which it is issued. No such permit shall be granted if such use would create dust, foul odors, or undue noise, liable to affect injuriously the health or comfort of those engaged therein, or of the tenants, occupants, or neighbors.
