Section 14940 - Light in public halls at night

In every public hall, near the stairs in a tenement- or rooming-house, an adequate light shall be kept lighted by the conductor, from sunset to at least ten post meridian; and in the entrance hall, and the hall of the second floor above, an adequate light shall be kept lighted all night. Such light shall be adequately protected by a glass shade or wire screen.
