Brass screw-caps for cleanouts must be extra heavy, not less than one-eighth of an inch thick. The screw-cap must have a solid square or hexagonal nut, not less than one inch high. The body of cleanout ferrule must at least equal in weight and thickness the caulking ferrule for the same size pipe.
