Section 4503.24 - Registration and licensing of chauffeured limousines - livery license place sticker(A) The owner of a chauffeured limousine, upon compliance with the motor vehicle laws relating to the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, upon payment of the regular license tax as prescribed under section 4503.04 of the Revised Code, any tax levied under Chapter 4504. of the Revised Code, an additional fee of seven dollars and fifty cents, and the fee specified in division (C) of this section, if applicable, and upon compliance with section 4509.80 of the Revised Code, shall be issued appropriate vehicle registration and a set of license plates and a validation sticker, or a validation sticker alone when required by section 4503.191 of the Revised Code. The license plates issued under this section shall bear the word "livery" printed at the bottom of the plate. The color of the word shall be selected by the director of public safety. The additional fee shall be for the purpose of compensating the bureau of motor vehicles for additional services required in the issuing of such licenses and shall be transmitted by the registrar of motor vehicles to the treasurer of state for deposit in the public safety - highway purposes fund created by section 4501.06 of the Revised Code.(B) Any application for registration or registration renewal of a chauffeured limousine made under this section may be submitted by mail directly to the registrar or in person to a deputy registrar.(C) Each deputy registrar shall be allowed a fee equal to the amount established under section 4503.038 of the Revised Code for each application for registration and registration renewal notice the deputy registrar receives.Amended by 132nd General Assembly, HB 26,§101.01, eff. 6/30/2017; however, the modifications to provisions of law requiring the deposit of funds into the Public Safety - Highway Purposes Fund that are made in this section shall take effect not earlier than July 1, 2017.Effective Date: 6/30/1995; 9/16/2004.
