Section 432B.5917 - [Effective on the earlier of 7/1/2025, or the date on which the Division of Child and Family Services of the Department of Health and Human Services notifies the Governor and the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau that there is sufficient money available to] Court to retain jurisdiction over young adult; effect of such retention1. A court shall retain jurisdiction over a young adult until the young adult reaches 21 years of age.2. While under the jurisdiction of the court, a young adult has the same authority to make decisions as a person who is over 18 years of age and who is not subject to the jurisdiction of the court.Added to NRS by 2021, 2728; A 2023, 2064, effective on the earlier of July 1, 2025, or the date on which the Division of Child and Family Services of the Department of Health and Human Services notifies the Governor and the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau that there is sufficient money available to carry out the amendatory provisions of sections 1 to 34, inclusive, of chapter 419, Statutes of Nevada 2021, at page 2713, and an agency which provides child welfare services is prepared to participate in the Extended Young Adult Support Services ProgramAmended by 2023, Ch. 379,§1, eff. 6/12/2023.Added by 2021, Ch. 419,§24, eff. on the earlier of 7/1/2025, or the date on which the Division of Child and Family Services of the Department of Health and Human Services notifies the Governor and the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau that there is sufficient money available to carry out the provisions of those sections and an agency which provides child welfare services is prepared to participate in the Extended Young Adult Support Services Program.
