Section 212.040 - Expenses of recapture and return of escaped prisoners1. If an escape is not the result of carelessness, incompetency or other official delinquency of the Director or other officers of the Department of Corrections, all expenses of enforcing the provisions of NRS 212.030 or appertaining to the recapture and return of escaped convicts are a charge against the State, and must be paid out of the Reserve for Statutory Contingency Account upon approval by the State Board of Examiners.2.
