Mont. Code § 3-1-1108

A judicial officer who is a member of the commission or of the supreme court may not participate in any proceeding involving the officer's own censure, suspension, removal, or retirement or that of the officer's spouse, a relative within the sixth degree of consanguinity, or the spouse of a relative related within the sixth degree.
