Section 15:933.1 - Office of juvenile justice; statistical data collection; Department of Children and Family Services
A. For the purpose of assisting the Department of Children and Family Services in identifying changes in household circumstances for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefit allotments, the office of juvenile justice shall report identifying information to the department of each juvenile placed under the custody of the office of juvenile justice for a sentence of nine months of longer. The Department of Children and Family Services shall determine the required information necessary to identify the juvenile and the juvenile's household.
B. If the juvenile has not reached the age of majority at the time of release, the office of juvenile justice shall report to the Department of Children and Family Services when the juvenile is released from custody. For purposes of this Section, the age of majority means a child under the age of twenty-two.
C. The office of juvenile justice shall inform the Department of Children and Family Services no later than forty-five days prior to release of the juvenile from custody. If the office of juvenile justice is unable to provide notice forty-five days prior to release due to a modification of a disposition by a court, the office shall notify the department within twenty-four hours of receipt of the modified disposition.
D. Upon receipt of a report from the office of juvenile justice pursuant to this Section, the Department of Children and Family Services shall adjust the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for the juvenile's household to reflect the change in circumstance.
