Section 11:3364 - Emergency and supernumerary firefightersA. Any emergency or supernumerary firefighters of the New Orleans Fire Department may elect to become eligible for full pension benefits as provided by this Part upon making payment of the contributions to the fund for all service previously rendered in the employ of the New Orleans Fire Department. The amount of the contributions to be so made shall be determined by the board of trustees of said fund on the basis of the years of such service by each firefighter electing to receive benefits under the provisions of this section and the compensation received during such service, and shall be in accordance with the assessments against members under existing laws.B. The board of trustees shall fix and determine by appropriate rules and regulations the amount of service in any year which will be equivalent to one year of service, but in no case shall more than one year of service be creditable for all service in any one calendar year.C. The contributions may be made in installments, in such manner as may be mutually agreed by each firefighter and the board of trustees; provided, however, that all such installments shall be paid within four years from the date of the agreement.D. Upon making such payment the firefighter shall be entitled to all of the benefits provided by this Part to the full extent provided for any other member of said fund.La.
