When the death of a person occurs in a hospital, psychiatric hospital, public asylum, or any other charitable or public or private health institution or penitentiary, and the institution does not know the family or persons in charge of the deceased; and in those cases in which a death occurs and the cadaver is not claimed within a twenty-four (24) hour term of having duly notified the family or persons in charge, said institution shall have the obligation to notify the death to the Board. The prosecutors, the Court of First Instance, the Institute of Forensic Science and the Puerto Rico Police shall have the same obligation, in the case of unknown persons who die in public places and whose bodies are not claimed by their families or persons in charge, within a term of twenty-four (24) hours after being duly notified.
