A donation pursuant to §§ 3620-3620y of this title may be made in favor of any of the following donees, but only for the ends and purposes of §§ 3620-3620y of this title.
(a) Any hospital, clinic, bank, or medical institution enabled and certified to recover and manage cadavers or human body parts, or any physician or surgeon duly authorized to practice the profession in Puerto Rico.
(b) Any authorized medical or dental school, college or university.
(c) Any person appointed in effect by the donor who is somehow related with any branch of medical science and who can prove, if requested by the Board created herein, that his purposes are in harmony with the ends and purposes indicated herein.
(d) The Board that is created by virtue of §§ 3620-3620y of this title.
(e) Any institution or entity accredited and certified by the Board to manage, maintain, deposit, remove, or conduct processes related to organ or tissue transplantation.
The Board shall be notified within forty-eight (48) hours of every donation made. When a donation is made by a sixteen (16) and seventeen (17) year old minor, any recovering entity shall keep a register with the name, age, and address of the minor, a description of the document presented by the minor as evidence of age, a copy of the medical certificate stating the minor’s eligibility to donate, and a copy of the blood donation consent form. The Department of Health is hereby empowered to inspect said register.
