§ 3212. Definitions

For the purposes of this chapter, the term “pre- and postnatal care and services” shall include diagnostic studies, physical examinations, vaccinations, prescription and administration of medication, referrals to other professionals or health service institutions for consultation and treatment, surgical procedures related to pregnancy or its complications, and any other consultations, guidance and treatment services pertinent to proper care during the post partum period. None of the provisions stated herein may be interpreted as an authorization to take measures to interrupt the pregnancy or to render sterilization services to any non-emancipated or mentally-incompetent minor.
