§ 74d. Municipal health, treatment and diagnosis centers—Contributions

The Department of Health shall contribute a portion of the economic resources required by the work plan and budget submitted by the mayor and approved by the Secretary. The per capita amount which corresponds to the population of Puerto Rico shall be determined from the resources available to cover the cost of the primary medical services.

In those cases in which the municipalities wish to maintain the joint administration with the Department, as it is being done at present, the Department shall make a basic contribution no greater than the contribution that is currently being granted to the municipality in question for the rendering of the services.

In the cases of the municipalities with which contracts are entered under the terms of §§ 74a—74u of this title, the Secretary of Health is empowered to provide a contribution of up to one hundred percent (100%) of the per capita resources available when said municipality assumes full responsibility for the primary medical services of its population.
