§ 589. Possession as prima facie evidence of unlawful intention

In the trial of any person accused of having committed any of the offenses set forth in § 587 of this title, if the unlawful possession of explosives or of a substance that may be used to manufacture explosives, is proved, said proof shall be prima facie evidence that the defendant committed the crime or crimes charged and the burden of proof to show the contrary shall fall upon the defendant.
