Section 35-33-8-0.6 - Prohibition concerning the use of certain public funds for bail; charitable bail organizations may not accept certain public funds(a) Neither the state nor a political subdivision (as defined in IC 36-1-2-13) may: (1) post bail for any person; or(2) for the purpose of posting bail for any person, provide a grant or other funding, directly or indirectly, to an entity that posts bail for any person.(b) A person that accepts donations for the purpose of depositing cash bail for another person may not accept a grant or other funding, directly or indirectly, from a political subdivision.Added by P.L. 147-2022,SEC. 5, eff. 7/1/2022.
