Section 720 ILCS 570/207 - [Effective Until 1/1/2025]The Department, taking into consideration the recommendations of its Prescription Monitoring Program Advisory Committee, may issue a rule scheduling a substance in Schedule III if it finds that:
(1) the substance has a potential for abuse less than the substances listed in Schedule I and II;(2) the substance has currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States; and(3) abuse of the substance may lead to moderate or low physiological dependence or high psychological dependence.Amended by P.A. 097-0334,§ 5, eff. 1/1/2012.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
