Section 5 ILCS 312/1-102 - Purposes and Rules of Construction(a) This Act shall be construed and applied to promote its underlying purposes and policies.(b) The underlying purposes and policies of this Act are:(1) to simplify, clarify, and modernize the law governing notaries public; and(2) to promote, serve, and protect the public interest.
