Section 231 - Jurisdiction over intellectually disabled children

If it shall appear to the court that any child within its jurisdiction is intellectually disabled, the court may cause such child to be examined as provided in the mental hygiene law and if found to be intellectually disabled as therein defined, may commit such child in accordance with the provisions of such law.
