Section 12-240-140 - Determination of death(1) An individual is dead if: (a) The individual has sustained irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions; or(b) The individual has sustained irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem.(2) A determination of death under this section shall be in accordance with accepted medical standards.Renumbered from C.R.S. § 12-36-136 and amended by 2019 Ch. 136,§ 1, eff. 10/1/2019.This section is similar to former § 12-36-136 as it existed prior to 2019.
