Section 24-4A-4 - Enforcement of chapter; delegation of enforcement authority; promulgation of rules and regulations(a) The commission shall enforce the provisions of this chapter and the regulations adopted pursuant hereto; except, that the commission may delegate its enforcement authority to a local government agency, an approved inspection agency or an agency of another state, provided the inspection agencies' inspection requirements conform with the requirements of the commission.(b) The commission shall promulgate rules and regulations to interpret and make specific the provisions of this chapter. These rules shall include provisions imposing requirements reasonably consistent with recognized and accepted standards adopted by the Southern Building Codes Congress, International, the National Fire Protection Association, or any other nationally recognized building standards.Ala.
