Section 25-16-201 - Reorganization of agencies to meet federal program requirements(a) In order to protect the state's participation in various federal programs and to continue to obtain the benefits of those programs for the people of this state or where necessary to obtain the benefits of new or expanded federal programs, the Governor is authorized, by executive order, to establish, combine, abolish, or otherwise reorganize any of the agencies, departments, divisions, sections, or units within the executive department of government where the changes or reorganizations are necessary to comply with the applicable federal law or regulations governing federal programs.(b) However, whenever any executive order may move from the jurisdiction of any office, department, institution, or other agency any authority or jurisdiction of the agency in effect at the time of the order, the order shall be subject to confirmation by the General Assembly in the next following regular session, fiscal session, or special session, and the General Assembly by joint resolution may rescind the executive order.Acts 1971, No. 139, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 12-311; Acts 2009, No. 962, § 45.
