Section 12-12-1005 - Identification Bureau
(a) The Identification Bureau of the Division of Arkansas State Police shall collect and maintain fingerprint identification records required to be reported by this subchapter.
(b) The Identification Bureau of the Division of Arkansas State Police shall provide arrest and identification information for inclusion in the computerized criminal history file, as specified by the Arkansas Crime Information Center.
(c)
(1) Arkansas shall be a single-source state for the submission of fingerprint cards or fingerprint images to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
(2) All fingerprint cards or fingerprint images, under the provisions of this subchapter, shall be submitted by Arkansas law enforcement agencies to the Identification Bureau of the Division of Arkansas State Police.
(d)
(1) A background check request for a noncriminal justice purpose that must be completed under state or federal law through the Division of Arkansas State Police shall be submitted to the division by livescan through the Online Criminal Background Check System.
(2) This subsection does not apply to a submission originating outside the State of Arkansas.
