Rule 12.29 - Expenses of Prospective and Selected State Grand Jurors
(a)Generally. A person called for prospective grand jury impanelment or a person serving on a state grand jury is entitled to reimbursement for lodging and meal expenses if:
(1) the session is held more than 50 miles from the person's residence; and
(2) the expense is incurred either:
(A) the night before the session; or
(B) after the session, if the assignment judge determines that the session did not end early enough to permit the person to return to his or her residence by a reasonable hour.
(b)Limitation of Expenses. The financial limitations on reimbursement of expenses are the same as those imposed by statute or regulation on employees of the State of Arizona.
(c)Exceptional Circumstances. In exceptional circumstances, the assignment judge may authorize reimbursement of an expense incurred by a prospective or serving state grand juror that is not otherwise authorized in this rule.
