Partnering with community agencies provides opportunities for academic service learning, community engagement, and access to need-based resources. The purpose of this rule is to provide paid time off to an employee who, during regular work hours, volunteers for community service or to join other student or employee volunteers in an organized community engagement activity, not part of coursework.
