All justice officers, except those transferred or reinstated pursuant to Rule .0406 of this Section shall serve a probationary certification period of one year; provided that the one year probationary period has not been extended for cause pursuant to 12 NCAC 10B .0602(a) or 10B .1303(a). For certification as a deputy sheriff the probationary period begins on the date the officer took the Oath of Office after completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training as described in 12 NCAC 10B .0502 and 12 NCAC 09B .0205. For certification as a detention officer or telecommunicator, the probationary period begins on the date the person was appointed.
