Section 80-4.4 - Requirements for annotation of a certificate-severe or multiple disabilities
(a) The candidate shall hold a valid provisional or permanent certificate for teaching special education, the deaf and hearing-impaired, the blind and partially sighted, the speech- and hearing- handicapped; or a valid initial, emergency COVID-19, or professional certificate in students with disabilities (birth-grade 2), students with disabilities (grades 1-6), students with disabilities (grades 5-9), students with disabilities (grades 7-12), students with disabilities (all grades), deaf and hard of hearing (all grades), blind and visually impaired (all grades), speech and language disabilities (all grades).
(b) The candidate shall complete a program registered pursuant to section 52.21(b)(4)(vii) of this Title or its equivalent consisting of a total of nine semester hours of coursework specifically focused on teaching learners with severe and multiple disabilities. For such equivalent coursework, the candidate must have achieved at least a C or its equivalent in any undergraduate level course and at least a B- or its equivalent in any graduate level course in order for the semester hours associated with such course to be credited toward meeting this semester hour requirement.
