Section 51.3 - Scholastic requirements
(a) Courses from the following list, when completed with a passing grade, will be accepted by the commissioners as meeting the requirements for registration as an apprentice or acceptance as a pilot in training:
(1) college level courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, meteorology, oceanography, physical geography, geology;
(2) college level course in psychology, economics, economic geography, government, history;
(3) navigation and seamanship;
(4) engineering, naval architecture, ship construction, computer technology;
(5) college level courses in business; and
(6) the two years of English customarily required for a bachelor's degree; and modern foreign languages.
(b) Work in areas not listed may be accepted if found suitable by the commissioners.
(c) Courses which are taken to make up entrance deficiencies will not be accepted.
