Section 442.7 - Bathing and toilet facilities
(a)Number of bathrooms, toilets and lavatories.

Bathrooms, toilets and lavatories shall be convenient to children's sleeping quarters. There shall be a minimum of one toilet to serve every six children, one lavatory with running hot and cold water to serve every four children, and one tub or shower to serve every eight children. This section shall not apply to sleeping quarters for children in use by the institution on October 31, 1964 and the bathrooms, toilets and lavatories for the accommodation for the children therein.

(b)Children's toilet articles.

Each child shall be provided with his own toothbrush, comb, towel and washcloth. Each child's towel and washcloth shall be placed within reach of the child, in a separate space for each child, and shall be changed at least twice a week and more often when necessary.

(c)Children of opposite sex.

Boys and girls five years of age and over shall have separate bathrooms and toilets. Bath and toilet facilities for staff shall be separate from those for children.
