Section 45-3.3 - Definitions

In addition to the definitions in sections 45-1.3 and 45-2.3 of this Part:

(a) Dry slide means a U-shaped trough in which passengers are conveyed down an incline with or without the use of mats.
(b) Monorail slide means an elevated track upon which a sled conveys passengers down an incline.
(c) Slide attendant means an individual assigned to particular duties or functions in connection with the operation of a slide.
(d) Slide starter means an individual assigned the responsibility of starting each rider on a slide and maintaining a predetermined time or distance interval between riders at the start.
(e) Slide structure means the overall structure supporting one or more slides.
(f) Slide supervisor means an individual in overall charge of a slide, including maintenance, inspection and training of all slide staff.
(g) Sliding device means any contrivance that carries and conveys passengers along, around or over a fixed or restricted course or within a defined area for the purpose of amusing or entertaining its passengers, and which is of such nature that accidental personal injuries may be incurred in its assembly, disassembly, or use.
(h) Snow slide means a frozen and/or snow covered incline consisting of one or more lanes within a restricted course in which passengers are conveyed with the use of sliding devices.
(i) Trough slide means a U-shaped track upon which a sled conveys passengers down an incline. A water slide is not a trough slide.
(j) Water slide means a conduit or a U-shaped trough in which passengers are conveyed, with or without the assistance of mats or other sliding devices, in a stream of constantly flowing water down an incline into a pool of water or runout.
