Section 4-6.5 - Clearance for boilers installed after march 31, 1965 in a space or room which previously housed a boiler(a) General clearance. Sufficient clearance shall be provided from building walls, partitions and overhead ceilings or structures to allow for proper operation, maintenance and inspection.(b) Vertical clearance. Where it is necessary for a person to work on top of the boiler, the clearance between the top of the boiler and the underside of any overhead structure shall be not less than three feet. The clearance from the part of any valve or fitting which moves when the valve or fitting is opened or closed, shall be not less than six inches when such valve or fitting is at maximum open.N.Y.
