Section 11 CSR 50-2.040 - Private Inspection StationsPURPOSE: This rule lists the vehicles that private inspection stations may inspect and other responsibilities that apply only to private stations.
(1) A private official vehicle inspection station permit will be issued to any association, person, partnership, corporation, subsidiary corporation or governmental entity, provided its facilities, equipment and personnel meet the requirements prescribed for a public inspection station. (A) A private inspection station shall inspect only vehicles registered or to be registered, titled or to be titled in the name of the person or organization described on the application for a permit or which are maintained under a written maintenance agreement of one (1)-year duration.(B) Before any vehicles which are maintained under a written maintenance agreement can be inspected, a copy of the maintenance agreement must accompany the application for a private station permit or be on file at the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division, Jefferson City, Missouri.(C) All inspection rules, standards and procedures shall apply to private inspection stations.
