A. A horse starting in a race, shall not be shod with ordinary or training shoes. Toe grabs with a height greater than two millimeters, bends, jar caulks, stickers and any other appliance worn on the front shoes of horses while racing or training on all racing surfaces are prohibited. Bar plates may be used only with the consent of the stewards, and permission to discontinue their use must be obtained from the stewards.La. Admin. Code tit. 35, § V-6359
