Affected persons are entitled to status reports from the department while a formal application review is in progress pursuant to Iowa Code section 10A.718. The department will maintain a log of all requests for written status reports by affected persons. Affected persons who request written status reports will submit an electronic request, identifying the specific information requested, which may include notification of the council's final decision, any application for rehearing, or the filing of a petition for judicial review. The formal process does not preclude informal contacts with department staff for verbal status reports. Printed copies of the council's final decision, an application for rehearing, a petition for judicial review, or any other public record will be provided upon request.
