Section 410 IAC 16.2-1.1-33 - "Intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded (or persons with related conditions)" defined

Sec. 33.

"Intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded (or persons with related conditions)" means a health facility that provides active treatment for each developmentally disabled resident. In addition, the facility provides nursing care, room, food, laundry, administration of medications, modified diets, and treatments. A facility is only for developmentally disabled residents, and the facility shall be designed to enhance the development of these individuals, to maximize achievement through an interdisciplinary approach based on development principles and to create the least restrictive environment.
