Section 19-133.2-38 - Inspection of speedometer-odometer(a) The speedometer-odometer shall be inspected for proper operation. Indicated vehicle mileage (miles or kilometers) shall be recorded on the inspection certificate. If a speedometer is installed in a vehicle that is less than 25 years old, it must display speed in miles per hour.(b) No certificate of inspection shall be issued if the odometer is not functioning or the speedometer does not have gradation marks for miles per hour.
