Section 17-1705-17 - Assignment of rights to support(a) All individuals shall assign to the state any rights the individuals may have to receive medical support payments on the individual's own behalf or on behalf of any other family member applying for or receiving assistance.(b) If the caretaker relative with whom the child is living, fails to complete the assignment, the caretaker relative shall be ineligible for medical assistance.(c) The department shall provide medical assistance to individuals who would otherwise be eligible but for the refusal of the caretaker relative to complete the assignment.Haw.
