Section 17-1416-2 - Goals of social services Social services shall be directed at helping eligible persons:
(1) Achieve or maintain economic self-support to prevent, reduce, or eliminate dependency on public assistance;(2) Achieve or maintain self-sufficiency, including reduction or prevention of dependency;(3) Prevent or remedy abuse, neglect, or exploitation of dependent adults unable to protect their own interests;(4) Prevent or reduce inappropriate institutional care by providing for community-based care, home-based care, or other forms of less intensive care; or(5) Secure admission to institutional care when other forms of care are not appropriate.[Eff 6/29/92; comp 10/28/95] (Auth: HRS § 346-14) (Imp: HRS § 346-14; 42 U.S.C. §1397 )
