Section 15.501 - Regional Abatement Districts(1) Handling of septage through regionalized authorities or districts can promote public safety, efficient regional planning, sufficient capacity and cost-savings for individuals, the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions.(2) One or more cities and towns, pursuant to the provisions of M.G.L. c. 21, §§ 29 and 30, and M.G.L. c. 111, §§ 31 and 31D may enter into an abatement district for the purpose of arranging for the transport and disposal of septage generated within their boundaries. A model regulation for the purposes of forming a district may be obtained from the Department.
