Section 130.1203 - Cardiac Surgery Patient Outcome Data RequirementsEach hospital that provides cardiac surgery services shall submit patient-specific data to the DAC for each of its patients who has cardiac surgery in a manner defined by the Department using STS National Database Standards and in accordance with requirements set forth by the Department in guidelines:
(1) Cardiac surgery data submitted by hospitals are subject to audit by the Department. All acute hospitals providing cardiac surgery services are subject to random data audits that may include re-abstraction of a sample of patient medical records by the Department or its contractor.(2) Each hospital shall reimburse the DAC for the hospital's share of the DAC's expenses according to a formula established by the Department, which shall be based on the volume of cardiac surgery services that the hospital provides. The Department shall set forth the formula and the procedures for disbursement to the DAC in guidelines.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1343, eff. 4/7/2017.
