State v. Wiener

Supreme Court of Connecticut
Oct 12, 2000
761 A.2d 757 (Conn. 2000)

Opinion

Decided October 12, 2000

The defendant's petition for certification for appeal from the Appellate Court, 58 Conn. App. 203 (AC 17213), is granted, limited to the following issues:

"1. Did the Appellate Court properly conclude that the trial court's granting of the complainant's motion to quash did not violate the defendant's sixth amendment rights to compulsory process and to confront and crossexamine witnesses against him?

"2. If the answer to question one is `yes,' did the Appellate Court properly conclude that the trial court did not abuse its discretion when it granted the complainant's motion to quash, ruling that the subpoenaed financial records were `collateral?'"

SULLIVAN, J., did not participate in the consideration or decision of this petition.

The Supreme Court docket number is SC 16396.

Alice M. Sexton, in support of the petition.

Rita M. Shair, assistant state's attorney, in opposition.
