Steven Anthony Walcott, Jr., applying for supervisory writs, 20th Judicial District Court, Parish of East Feliciana, No. 45-949.

BEFORE: McCLENDON, HOLDRIDGE, AND GREENE, JJ.

WRIT DENIED. This writ application is untimely. Pursuant to Rule 4-3 of the Uniform Rules of Louisiana Courts of Appeal, the return date in civil cases shall not exceed 30 days from the date of notice as provided in La. Code Civ. P. art. 1914. Applying the mailbox rule to relator, a pro se inmate, this writ application could be considered filed on January 23, 2023, the date relator wrote on his application as the date he mailed the writ application, more than thirty days after notice of the district court's judgment denying the motion at issue, which was issued on November 23, 2022. See Bourque v. Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, 2016-1342 (La.App. 1st Cir. 4/12/17), 218 So.3d 1041, 1043.
