The petition by the state of Connecticut for certification for appeal from the Appellate Court, 71 Conn. App. 289 (AC 20836), is granted, limited to the following issue:

"Did the Appellate Court properly conclude that the defendant's convictions of risk of injury to a child under General Statutes (Rev. to 1997) § 53-21 must be reversed for insufficiency of the evidence?"

The Supreme Court docket number is SC 16873. James M. Ralls, assistant state's attorney, in support of the petition.
