IN RE: GEORGE M. D'ARTOIS APPLYING FOR WRITS OF CERTIORARI, PROHIBITION AND MANDAMUS.


Writ granted in part: The accused is entitled to a prompt hearing of his preliminary examination. La.C.Cr.P. arts. 292, 293. Construing the state's request for a continuance as based on the unavailability of witnesses for tomorrow's hearing, the trial court is ordered to hold the hearing on the preliminary examination beginning no later than 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9th.
