Brenden P. Leydon, and Kevin Collins, Stamford, in support of the petition.

Wyatt R. Jansen, Greenwich, in opposition.

The petition of the named defendant and defendant Deborah Schalm for certification to appeal from the Appellate Court, 219 Conn. App. 613, 295 A.3d 1055 (2023), is granted, limited to the following issue:

"Did the Appellate Court correctly conclude that the decedent's former spouse and her daughter were not entitled to obtain the proceeds from the decedent's life insurance policy in an interpleader action because the separation agreement requiring the decedent to designate them as beneficiaries contained a provision stating that the decedent's failure to maintain the policy in accordance with the agreement's provisions constituted a claim against the decedent's estate?"

MULLINS, J., did not participate in the consideration of or decision on this petition.
